Numeric Parameters:
Energy Efficiency:
Efficiency is measured by solar energy factor and solar fraction. The common solar energy factor are between 2 and 3 in the range of 1 to 11. The common solar fraction factor between 0.5-0.75 and in the range of 0-1.
The solar energy could only convert into the electricity in 18% efficiency. However, because of the large basic solar energy value, 18% efficiency could also make a lot of energy.
Temperature Control Capabilities:
The storage tank of the solar hot water systems usually located in the room, therefore, the room wall will give a great thermal isolation. The storage tank and pipes are usually equipped with freeze protection and the material of coat will reduce the heat loss.
Outdoor Air Temperature Suitability:
The solar hot water systems usually equipped with freeze-thaw protection, therefore, the system could work in most cold weather situations. The system will work well from -58 °F to 140 °F which is a very wide range. Depending on the material used, in some extreme low temperature, the system could survive as well.
Heating and Cooling Maximum:
The heating capability of the solar hot water system basically depends on how much sun shine in one day. Typically in 75 °F environment and 8 hours sunshine, the solar hot water could generate 2000lb hot water over 110 °F in the residential use.
